  The Children’s Mural Poster:
The Peaceable Kingdom
In honor of the 2007 Montessori Centenary, NAMTA solicited
artwork from Montessori children around the world to be integrated
into a Children’s Mural, which traveled with the NAMTA Centenary
Exhibit. The mural presents the Universe Story, beginning with the
origin of the universe and moving on through the interdependence of plants and animals, the emergence of
humans, the rise of culture, and finally the realization of the Peaceable Kingdom, which gives the mural its
name. The self-expression of each individual’s art is blended so that the composite of 800 images from 30
international schools flows into the timelessness of true progress under the heat of human consciousness.

Montessori Album
by Margot Waltuch
Margot Waltuch (1908-2003) knew and worked with
Maria Montessori. She spent her life in Montessori education and
knew its traditions as no one else. This album captures many of
her personal experiences in the field and is rich with reminiscences
of her work with Maria Montessori.
Margot Waltuch earned a master of education degree
from Columbia Teachers College in New York. She was active in starting
the Montessori training centers in the United States. She was a
school consultant and the AMI special representative to non-governmental
organizations of the United Nations.
Her album provides many sensitive personal insights
and presents the Montessori method in the context of its international
history. It is a wonderful addition to any Montessorian's reference
material.
